Son of Dracula / The Mad Ghoul. Universal, ca. 1943. Hand-painted lobby display board with cut-outs from a poster (60 x 40”). Beautiful gouache lettering and ornamentation by an unknown but clearly skilled sign-painter, for a double-feature of the horror films starring Lon Chaney and David Bruce. Light wear to corners. Unsigned. A. The pictorial portion, for Son of Dracula, depicts Lon Chaney (as Count Dracula) and Louise Allbritton (as Katherine Caldwell) in the same configuration in which they appear on the original release of the insert movie poster. However this cut-out must have come from a larger poster sheet – a size not previously seen at auction. Potter & Potter Auctions

Two Divination Boxes. Circa 1940. The order of four colored or numbered blocks arranged in a box is divined by the magician even though the box is closed. Lacquered wooden boxes with gold accents wooden or paper-covered wooden blocks. Each box 4 1/4" long, the wooden example a premium advertising Siemens Opal Lamps. An Oversize Cowboy Hat from the Benny Hill Show. Circa 1980s. Large plush foam feathered cowboy hat with faux-suede brim, labeled by Taylor Welch, a prop from Thames Television, which produced and aired HillÍs show from 1969?89. Approx. 20 x 20 x 12î. Accompanied by a production binder (Thames, 1987) including highlights, synopses, and music cue sheets for 100 episodes, six color transparencies, and a glossy publicity photo, plus a letter from John Fisher, of the same network, to the previous owner, enclosing the prop and stating: ñIÍm sure you will derive pleasure from the enclosed. One day it will be quite a collectorÍs item!î In need of some restoration, with foam cracking and splitting, misshapen in spots. Potter & Potter Auctions
