Robert Frost Signed, One Hundred And One Famous Poems
Here we present the entire, 60-year, outstanding autograph collection of one, now-retired, university professor.\n\nWith interest in the lives and work of state and national leaders across many fields, as a middle school student, Professor Flynn launched a life-time of letter writing effort, along with special moments of personal meetings, leading to this large and well-maintained autograph collection.\n\nInitially, she focused on acquiring a post card of each state capital building signed by the governor of that U.S. state. Many prominent senators and several presidents are represented in the collection. The crowning jewel signatures included are from Neil Armstrong and other space travelers; the renowned poet, Robert Frost; artist, Thomas Hart Benton; and, the celebrated composer/conductor, Leonard Bernstein.\n\nAlways a teacher, it is not surprising that Dr. Flynn made sure that several of these autographs would be inscribed in significant books, as offered here.\n\nRobert Frost (1874-1963) renowned American poet, Pulitzer Prize recognized four times and awarded The Congressional Gold Medal. Here we have a Robert Frost-signed poetry book titled “One Hundred And One Famous Poems” by R.J. Cook, revised edition, with Prose Supplement, copyright 1926. Robert Frost’s dated signature appears on page 158 in this diverse collection of literary works. This anthology treasure was created in order for children to have access to classic works by some of the greatest poets at an affordable price. Selected works from famed poets Longfellow, Tennyson, and Walt Whitman, among many others, make this book a treasure.\nIn 1958 Flynn and several members of her high school English class were invited to Paterson State College (now William Paterson University) in New Jersey, to attend the lecture-reading given by the renowned poet Robert Frost. She took this family-treasured volume of poetry with her, since it included one full page with one of Frost's poems, “Mending Wall”, along with his youthful image. She hoped for his autograph !! After the presentation, the college moderator announced that "Owing to Mr. Frost's advanced age, he would sign books only." Flynn was rewarded with this valuable autograph for her evolving collection.\nContact our recommended 3rd party "for profit" shipper Pak Mail at (260) 637-4809 or for shipping quote PRIOR to bidding.
