Sworders Fine Art Auctioneers were established in 1782 by a Mr Peter Ramsey, in a coffee shop in North Street, Bishop’s Stortford. Sworders is now based north of Stansted Mountfitchet, Essex, in purpose built, environmentally-friendly award-winning premises which provide spacious heated auction rooms, over 200 car parking spaces, loading facilities and a sale day café. Sworders is established as East Anglia’s leading Fine Art Auction Room, with a hard-earned reputation for professionalism and integrity. Sworders has an enviable array of nationally respected specialists at our clients’ disposal and conduct market-leading auctions of Silver, Jewellery, Asian Art, 20th Century Decorative Art, Fine Wine, Books and Coins. In addition, Sworders conduct four Country House Sales a year offering Paintings, Furniture & European Works of Art and enormously popular weekly auctions of Furniture, Silver, Jewellery and Collectables. In a nutshell, Sworders sells East Anglian Art to the world.
