She is the missing link. No other Swedish artist has demonstrated so clearly that the line between fine art and arts and crafts is an artificial one, and that it has resulted from nothing but a strong inclination to categorise within the European art tradition. However, that wasn’t why her whirling sculptures caught so many eyes when they were first shown in the early 2000s; it was simply because of their captivating beauty.
