Created for the 1980 "Moving" show in Paris, this fantastic oversized lamp was a prototype and never actually put into production. The large orb is fashioned from translucent fiberglass, mounted onto brushed stainless steel legs. There are nine openings, trimmed in moulded rubber. The top lifts off, housing a circular lamp. A wonderfully long flexible cable can be draped in a variety of forms, adding to the overall design. The orb unbolts from the base and one leg detaches for easy moving and installation. The effect is very impressive in its scale and futuristic "alien" design.Read more
Crafted and heavily used throughout the Napoleonic wars, “knockdown” furniture—as it was also referred to—was constructed for military use. The mesh and bamboo screen offers a translucent quality to the body which has two interior shelves.Read more
"Homage to Barney Reid" is a contemporary gilded and patinated steel wall sculpture by American artist Del Williams. The central figural pattern was borrowed from a printed textile that was produced by ReidArt and designed by California artist Barney Reid (1913-1992) in the 1950s. Del Williams has kept that textile in his personal collection and is now creating a line of "Homage" sculptures that highlight Reid's Mid Century style. In this iteration of the Reid inspired sculptures, the artist has surrounded the central motif with his own welded, brutalist style nails that have a gold-leafed finish.Read more
