Rippon Boswell & Co GmbH is a German auction house specializing in antique rug and textiles. The auction house was originally founded in the south of England but with a change of ownership in 1987, it became a German company and the headquarters moved to its current location in Wiesbaden. Rippon Boswell & Co host’s regular auctions every spring and autumn, as well as individual sales when interesting items appear.

Baluch Prayer Rug A Baluch prayer rug displaying
Baluch Prayer Rug A Baluch prayer rug displaying the „head-and-shoulders" composition. The camel field shows three parallel trunks of a tree-of-life whose short horizontal branches are studded with star-shaped flowers drawn in red, brown and blue. Two large hands, an ancient protective symbol, appear in the corners next to the arch. This small prayer rug was probably made by a tribal group in the Torbat-e Jam region. The kilim finish is missing at the bottom, original sides, good condition, with the pile at its original height. Zanjan This small village rug in zaronim format
Zanjan This small village rug in zaronim format was woven in Zanjan, the northernmost village of the Hamadan region. A hexagonal central medallion with attached points stands alone in the ivory field. Small botehs linked by vines decorate the midnight blue corners. The border consists of three stripes of equal width containing botehs, rosettes and vines, surrounded by a wide camel edge. Newly overcast sides, somewhat reduced ends. Moldavian Kilim A village kilim made in the Moldova region, with a sand-brown field containing a repeat of large flowering plants placed in rows of four. In the wide, beige-ground border, an undulating vine of strikingly serrated contours intersects with a green vine of leaves and blossoms that undulates in the opposite direction. Neriz Woven by permanently settled Afshars in the
Neriz Woven by permanently settled Afshars in the surroundings of Neriz, the light red ground of this rug shows a rare hexagonal lattice design filled with flowering plants. A wide, deep blue frame, decorated with botehs, has been superimposed like a large honeycomb. The three borders, densely patterned with flowers, are drawn in the typical Neriz style.
