The framing option for this RUN includes a 1 Inch Black Wood Frame with UV Glass, foam core backing and ready to hang hardware. "This piece was one of 1 of 9 paintings I produced for my last show, DISTANCIA, that took place in an abandoned building in Mexico City at the start of this year. Every piece in the show had a similar second piece that was slightly altered to create a visual rhythm, but this painting was the one wild card piece that stood proudly on it's own. For me, this piece was the one piece that summed what the entire show was about — breaking away from structure to give way to a new perspective and flow while finding peace in the process." - Erik Otto This RUN comes signed, numbered and with a Certificate of Authenticity from Erik Otto and 1xRUN. ABOUT THE ARTIST Erik Otto is a mixed-media artist working professionally in the creative disciplines of painting, sculpture and site-specific installation for over 10 years. Erik has held exhibitions nationally in New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Washington DC and internationally in Vancouver, Mexico City, and Berlin. He currently has work held in the private collections of the Grand Hyatt, Microsoft, LinkedIn, One Medical Group, and Uber. Avid cyclist, explorer of the outdoor world, and firm believer of taking risks, he once self-initiated and self-funded a 6-month long artist residency in the middle of Mexico City that resulted in a pop-up exhibition in an abandoned building just prior to it’s demolition. Air Chair - Limited Edition Print - Carlos Mare aka Mare139

The framing option for this RUN includes a 1 Inch Black Frame with UV-Glass, foam core backing and ready to hang hardware. The framing option for this RUN includes a 1 Inch Black Frame with UV-Glass, foam core backing and ready to hang hardware. "AirChair is a studio painting on canvas that best illustrates where the B-boy series have been headed since 2013. With this painting I chose to focus on color painting and composition unlike the series of monochromatic paintings I produced in Berlin 2011. "The idea came to me when I was watching a street performer hold a similar freeze, his balance and strength impressed me so much I sketched out several variations of him until I found the right interpretation." - Mare139 This RUN comes signed, numbered and with a Certificate of Authenticity from Mare 139 and 1xRUN.ABOUT THE ARTIST Mare is a NYC based sculptor/ painter/ scholar/ US Cultural Ambassador who in 1985 pioneered a novel version of urban graffiti as modern sculpture. Throughout his career as a sculptor, Mare has consistently brought innovation to the genre’s aesthetic and vocabulary. His metal sculptures are inspired by his interests of form, light, space in an architectural environment. His admiration of early avant-garde art and sculpture inspired the merging of aesthetics between ‘graffiti’ styles and the modernists of the early 20th century. As a member of the golden age of subway graffiti (1975–1985), he painted under the moniker "Mare" which was short for "Nightmare". He wrote alongside many of the style masters of his generation among them Kel First, Dondi White, Crash, Kase2, Noc167 and others. This tutelage along with his interest in modernizing the art form lead his interests to contemporary art as a vehicle to re-interpret the concepts and aesthetic of style writing. As a sculptor, Carlos Mare139 Rodriguez's breakthrough was with the metal "K" sculpture in 1985. This led to a series of large-scale sculptures that were true to graffiti lettering format, but peeled and folded into space. By 1986, the sculptures departed from the common vernacular of writing to the more complex study Constructivist, Cubist and Futurist ideas, but yet retained its initial feel of graffiti-style writing. His sculptures have been exhibited internationally. Rodriguez also designed and created the award for the annual BET/Black Entertainment Awards show, which is given to entertainers, athletes and actors. In 2009, Rodriguez did re-skin his first building using his unique sculptural talents. Works of Rodriguez (as "Mare 139") were included in the 2010 "Art in the Streets" exhibition of graffiti and street art at MOCA in Los Angeles. Rodriguez also lectures and writes about the evolution and history of urban art in New York City, where he lives. Lady Of The Lake - Artist Proof IV - 2008 - Robert Sestok

Due to sizing, this RUN does not include a framing option. ABOUT THE ARTIST:, Due to sizing, this RUN does not include a framing option. ABOUT THE ARTIST: Early in Robert Sestok's career the 'downtown' experience inspired deconstructivist methods for creating art. People were using found objects and other non-traditional materials in their work, tearing things apart and reconstructing them, processes that harmonized with the reality of the Cass Corridor in the 60s and 70s, and in fact still does today. This period had a profound influence on Robert's approach to art that is particularly apparent in his sculptural work. Robert began to investigate the influence of our surroundings on our daily lives in his work. He still spends a lot of time shifting between reality and abstraction looking for 'missing links' to expand this allegorical construct of conjoined figure/environment/abstraction. "For my sculptures, I use positive cuts for the figure (a silhouette representing Man) and negative cuts to express architecture (environmental space and its baggage). Welded metal works for this, takes me physically and spatially into the metaphor ... making different objects connect ... that's why I like welding. There's also a specific kind of permanency that comes with the way welded steel withstands the elements, giving extended life to the work. Painting is about the edges, surface, content and theory. It's like a reflection of one's soul. A good painting will hold your attention for some mysterious reason. I keep painting for more than enjoyment. It's my way of seeing. It's my life. Purity is only relevant to the environment in which it exists." - Robert Sestok Find more by Robert Sestok at robertsestok.com. The framing option for this RUN includes a 1 inch black wood frame with UV-glass foam core backing and ready to hang hardware. "This painting of Leilani is a rework of a piece from my 2014 show in London alongside Fintan Magee, Oceanic. I always loved this work so much because it was such a departure from my usual, rather than exploring loud colour I utilized intersecting form instead. The original was grayscale so for this version I reintroduced minimal colour, bringing another dimension to it." - Askew One ABOUT THE ARTIST: Askew One is a multi-disciplinary artist mostly renowned for his graffiti art paintings. Widely regarded as one of the New Zealand graffiti scene’s driving forces, he has managed to remain at the forefront of the movement (both in New Zealand and throughout the world) whilst working tirelessly behind the scenes in a diverse array of projects. Askew’s indoor canvas works are influenced by double exposure photography, bold illustrative lines reflective of comic books and the graphic power of the letter. This is also seen in his public mural works in which his attraction to ‘bigger is better’ is highly precedent. With an abundance of achievements and experiences almost 20 years in the graffiti scene which include a guest artist invite to Primary Flight - Art Basel Miami and taking out two consecutive ‘Write 4 Gold’ world titles as part of TMD crew (who remain undefeated), Askew is also versed in graphic design, illustration, photography, publishing, music and moving image. A self-taught, self-sufficient one-man army with no formal art qualifications behind him, Askew is an artist schooled by life itself. Find more by Askew One at askew1.com. The framing option for this RUN includes a 1 Inch Black Wood Frame with UV Glass, foam core backing and ready to hang hardware. Lunacy in Magenta - Blotter Variant - Niagara

The framing option for this RUN includes float-mounting in a 3/4 inch white wood frame with UV-glass foam core backing and ready to hang hardware. ABOUT THE ARTIST While attending the University of Michigan in 1974, Niagara and Mike Kelley formed Destroy All Monsters. The band, known to fans as DAM, was active until 1985, earning international recognition due largely to the presence of former members of The Stooges and the MC5. Later, she fronted the supergroup Dark Carnival (with Stooges guitarist Ron Asheton and his brother Scott Asheton, Stooges drummer). Niagara utilized art school experience in creating album and promotional art for Destroy All Monsters, Dark Carnival, and other acts. Combining collage and pop iconography, Niagara's style began to take shape, and by the early 1990's she presented her work in galleries and cafes around Detroit. With critical recognition for her painting established, Niagara teamed up with the Detroit gallery CPop in 1996. Her first exhibits "All Men Are Cremated Equal" (1996) and "Faster Niagara, Kill...Kill" (1997) were breakout shows that fostered national recognition. Juxtapoz (art journal) heralded her as "The Queen Of Detroit." Successful exhibits in other cities followed, including Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Sydney, Tokyo and others. "The Niagara Girl" - in many guises - represented feminist swagger with drop-dead-gorgeous looks and a dangerous demeanor. She offered hard-boiled, tough talking women who would rather dispatch a man than put up with rude antics. Her bold, colorful, comic-strip-styled dames in various scenes of malfeasence parallel the modern tone of Callie Khoury's Thelma and Louise. Common ancestors include pin-up girls like Bettie Page and the dark side of 40's and 50's film icons such as Bette Davis, Lauren Bacall and Jane Greer. ABOUT THE ARTISTRead more
