Pennsylvania Percussion Rifle, by W.H. Brumeile, lockplate marked ''H.R. Raymond, Cambridge, Ind'a'', .36 cal., 42'' brown octagonal barrel, lightly engraved game scene lockplate, with barrel type bolster indicating that this rifle has probably been converted from flintlock; burnished cheekpiece walnut stock, with extensive nickel silver decorations, including roosters, moons, arrows, and geometric shapes, and probably originally dating from the 1820s. Condition is very good to near fine with moderate general patination to metal surfaces. Stock remains in excellent condition with light thinning to varnish. All decorative pieces remain. Approx. .75'' loss to toeplate. Scroll triggerguard has broken near rear portion and could be carefully repaired. Double set trigger needs some work, but hammer does stay back and releases.
