Case Antiques Inc. Auctions & Appraisals was founded in 2005 by John Case. The company's main gallery is located in Knoxville in the state of Tennessee. They also have a satellite office in Nashville, Tennessee, which is run by Sarah Campbell Drury.

Case specializes in the sale of art and antiques, utilizing today's technology to reach a worldwide clientele. The company offers an online catalogue and internet bidding in its live auctions, regularly attracting bidders from more than 60 countries, and also hold regular online-only auctions. Case can also provide personal valuations of antiques and art for estate, donation, or insurance purposes.

Six (6) Pre-Columbian Mesoamerican pottery vessels, one (1) grinding stone, 7 items total. 1st item: Colima culture buff ware with white slip and orange polychrome geometric designs to rounded body and flared neck, 2 3/4" H x 4 5/8" dia. 2nd item: Tiapacoyan, Mexico red ware with brown slip and red and white polychrome designs to double gourd body, slightly inverted lip, rounded base. 3 3/4" H x 4 1/4" dia. 3rd item: Chupicuaro culture grey ware with red slip pottery bowl with brown polychrome step designs to rounded body and elongated, pinched side, rounded base. 2 1/2" H x 5 3/4" W x 4 1/4" D. 4th item: Colima culture brown ware with red slip pottery bowl with flared lip, rounded base. 1 1/4" H x 4 5/8" dia. 5th item: Brown ware with red slip pottery bowl with round body and inverted lip, rounded base. 3" H x 5 7/8" dia. 6th item: Brown ware with red slip pottery vessel with double biconical body, flared neck, rounded base. 3" H x 4 1/2" dia. 7th item: Grinding stone. 2 1/2" H x 3 3/4" dia. Provenance: Estate of Celia (Cece) Webb, Nashville, TN, purchased in the 1970s. Note: 1st-3rd items purchased from the Parthenon, Nashville, Tennessee. CONDITION: 1st item: Overall good condition. Areas of loss, craquelure to slip. Approximately 6 1/2" hair line extending from lip to base. 2nd item: Overall good condition. Areas of loss to slip. Virginia Dudley Art Archive, incl. Pottery

Virginia (Evelyn) Dudley (TN/Georgia, 1913-1981) art archive including a large signed abstract painted silk wall hanging mounted onto linen (Sight – 67 1/2" H x 35" W, Overall – 70 1/2" H x 63" W), a copper enameled abstract plaque depicting a cat (4 1/8" H x 7 1/8" W), a signed pottery soap dish (1 1/8" H x 3 5/8" W), a signed pottery cup (2 1/2" H) and four (4) artist's biography cards. Biography: Virginia Dudley studied with Frank Baisden at the University of Chattanooga during her early college career. She subsequently won a scholarship to the Art Student League in New York, where she studied from 1940 to 1945. She received a masters degree from Claremont College in California in 1950. It was there that she began studying enamel work. Her work is presently on display in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Library of Congress, Emerson Museum of Art in Syracuse, N.Y., the Georgia Museum of Art and in the Mezzanine at the Hunter Museum of American Art. During the artist's life, she maintained a studio in Rising Fawn, Georgia. She was best known for her work in enamel on copper, which included pins, trays and large, elaborate wall pieces (courtesy: Hunter Museum of American Art, Chattanooga, TN). CONDITION: Some seam separation to back of wall hanging, not affecting the silk painting. Stains to one artist's bio card. Minute chipping to copper plaque.Read more
