Many ball players had preprinted signatures on their postcard photos, as on this photo. DiMaggio added “To Paul” on this one. This includes the original “mailed back envelopes” pictured. DiMaggio played for the Red Sox his whole career which ended in the 1950s. He was Joe DiMaggio's brother. Players addresses may have been public, as the address of 23 Princeton Road seems to be a stately residence.
