A lavishly illustrated work of French Line Engravings featuring the work of seventeenth century artists, such as Aubin, Simonet, Lingee, and Duclos. Limited edition copy. Number 829 of 1050. Smartly bound in the publisher's original cloth binding with gilt detailing to the front board. A lovely example of this work of art history in which H. W. Lawrence and B. L. Dighton discuss French Line engravings of the late 17th century. Each of the illustrations are accompanied by a brief description giving the tile, and dimensions of the original works. Profusely illustrated with 81 plate throughout. Collated complete. This volume is in very good condition with the clean plates throughout. Condition: In a full cloth binding, with gilt detailing to the spine and front board. Externally smart, light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and also to the extremities. Light patches of rubbing to the extremities. Light spots to the fore edge and minor offsetting to the front and rear pastedowns. Internally firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with light offsetting to the odd page caused by the illustrations. Overall Condition: Very Good Indeed
