An 18k Yellow Gold Full Hunter Vintage Pocket Watch, white enamel dial with roman numerals, small seconds at 6 0'clock, blued steel hands, a fixed 18k yellow gold bezel, an 18k yellow gold caseback, an 18k yellow gold inner cuvette engraved with "Hiram W.Johnson 21 Sept 2d 1887" , plastic glass, manual wind movement, in excellent condition, comes with a presentation box, our own certificate of authenticity and our own one year warranty. N.B. This pocket watch belonged to Hiram W. Johnson, who was the Governor of California from 1911 until 1917, when he began his role as a Republican to the U.S Senate. He was re-elected in 1922, 1928, 1934 and 1940 and continued to serve until he died in 1945. He was also one of the founders of the Progressive Party and running mate of Theodore Roosevelt in 1912, during the presidential elections. As illustrated in our images, this very fine timepiece is accompanied by Hiram W. Johnson's election campaign pamphlet and a letter addressed to his wife from Theodore Roosevelt, inviting her for dinner at the White House. It truly is a remarkable vintage set and would make a wonderful addition to one's collection.
