French 3.00 Carat Sapphire and 1.20 Carat Diamond Halo Ring, c.1940s

An enchanting oval-shaped sapphire, weighing 3.00 carats, is rubover set and wrapped within a glittering diamond border at the centre of this sensational vintage ring. The ring's 1.20 carat diamond border, graded as F in colour and VS in clarity, is comprised of round brilliant cut diamonds, which have been grain set within scalloped mountings above an open gallery. Dating from the 1940s, this 18 carat white gold ring is of French origin and it is set with an impressive collection of high-quality vintage stones.Round Brilliant CutThe standard modern round cut diamond, first invented in 1919.
