This is an example of a large ring shallow panel variant Model 1896 Broomhandle Mauser pistol with the desirable Von-Lengerke Import frame markings. The chamber area is marked "WAFFENFABRIK/MAUSER/OBERNDORF/a/N", with the left side marked with a "crown/crown/U" commercial proof, right side marked with the Mauser antler firing proof. The barrel underside has three small script/letter proofs and the left side milled panel is marked "VON LENGERKE/& DETMOLD/NEW-YORK". Correct large ring hammer, non-reinforced barrel/chamber area, long extractor, late style one-lug firing pin, with the shallow milled frame panels. Walnut grips with 32 grooves on each side, late style tangent rear sight graduated from 50-1000 and correctly numbered to the pistol, fixed front sight and original lanyard ring on the bottom grip frame.
