PHILIPPINES. Japanese Occupation. Bronze Quartermaster Corps Medal, Year 6 (1941). By: C. Zamora. PCGS AU-58 Gold Shield.Honeycutt-317a; Basso-155a. Struck to commemorate the conquest of the Philippines on December 27, 1941. A VERY SCARCE medal struck in bronze seen far less seldom then its silver counterpart. An attractive and well preserved example with a lovely combination of milk chocolate, mocha and cinnamon. A real treat for the specialist of Philippines medals. We sold a lower grade example in our Stack's Bowers and Ponterio auction November 5, 2015 lot # 39558 "The Ray Czahor Collection" which we graded EXTREMELY FINE that hammered down for $1,400- plus buyers fee. Estimate: $1,500 - $2,000.Provenance: From the Pasig River Collection.Click here for certification details from PCGS.
