A scarce collection of albertype photographs showing the beautiful Yosemite National Park. A scarce work. Illustrated with twenty-four pages of albertypes. Undated, dated from the date that Yosemite became a national park, and from the date the publishers started working in Yosemite, both of which occured in 1890. A beautiful work showing photographs of the Yosemite National Park, highlighting the wonderful and varying terrain within the park. Yosemite is in the western Sierra Nevada of California, and is well known for its waterfalls and granite cliffs, as well as for its biological diversity. The park was established as a National Park in 1890. The park as a great biological diversity, due to it having five major vegetation zones, chaparral and oak woodland, lower montane forest, alpine, subalpine zone, and upper montane forest. The Albertype Company was founded by Adolph and Herman L. Wittemann, as a viewbook and postcard publishing company. Condition: In the original publisher's paper wraps. Externally, generally smart. Light edgewear. Small dampstain to the head of the front wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. One page is detached but present. Overall Condition: Very Good
