German-born Tomma Abts is best known for her abstract paintings. She always works in the same format – acrylic and oil paint on a canvas 48cm x 38cm – but each piece takes shape gradually, the layers slowly building up without any preconceived plan. She works in London, and won the Turner Prize in 2006.
The second part of the 'Twinight Collection', the largest private porcelain collection in the world, will be sold at Lempertz on 6 April.
In his latest piece, actor and performance artist Shia LaBeouf occupied a lift of an Oxford language school for 24 hours. Leaving only for bathroom breaks and to give a talk at the Oxford Union, the #ELEVATE project was streamed on Youtube.
