Cecily Brown

Brown is a British painter, whose works bear a strong relation to Abstract Expressionism, as well as influences from Goya to Francis Bacon. Her works are between the figurative and the abstract, and often focus on sexuality and desire as their theme. The titles of Brown’s works often reference literature and pop culture, such as her 1998 work Pyjama Game (after the Doris Day film of the same name).
