Torun Bülow-Hübes (1927–2004) Sweden

Torun Bülow-Hübes was internationally active as silversmith and artist. She studied at the University College of Arts, Crafts & Design in the 1940s and was one of the first women in Sweden to open her own atelier. Bülow-Hübes had the idea of making jewelry directly for women and in so doing, not simply for its value a status symbol. With time, she became the most famous jewelry designer in Scandinavia and was the first woman to earn an international reputation as a silversmith.

Her jewelry was sold at Svenskt Tenn and in the late 1960s she began collaborating with Georg Jensen in Denmark. During this period she designed her famous “Vivianna” watch, “Mobius” bracelet and “Dew Drop” earrings.
