Lotta Antonsson (1963-) Sweden

Lotta Antonsson is a Swedish artist who primarily works with photography.
Antonsson studied at the University College of Arts, Crafts & Design from 1989 to 1992, in Copenhagen, and at the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm between 1995 and 1996.
Antonsson lived in Gothenburg for a period, where she collaborated with other artists such as Ann-Sofie Sidén and Annika von Hausswolff. She currently lives and works in Berlin. In the early 1990s, Antonsson and several other artists began exploring issues of gender, identity, and the objectification of women in their work. She called the vulnerability of young women into question, and reopened a discussion on power and

gender.
Antonsson experiments with a variety of materials and has juxtaposed photographs with objects such as stones and shells. She has had several exhibitions in Sweden and internationally. In 2012, she showed at both the Borås Konstmuseum and in Korea. Antonsson’s work is represented at Moderna Museet in Stockholm, the Halland Art Museum and more.
