Bengt Nordenberg (1822-1902) Sweden

Bengt Nordenberg was a Swedish visual artist from Blekinge who studied at the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts, as well as during sojourns to Dusseldorf, Paris and Italy. Nordenberg later settled and spent most of his life in Germany, where he belonged to the so-called Düsseldorf School along with Swedes Carl D’Unker, Kilian Zoll and Marcus Larson. Nordenberg frequently depicted folk life from Dalarna and Småland, but was also commissioned for paintings in churches. Nordenberg’s work is represented at Nationalmuseum, Nordiska Museet and the Gothenburg Museum of Art.
