Furniture

Furniture has been an intergral part of every indoor space for thousands of years, with evidence of primitive furniture design from some 30,000 years ago. Today, the furniture industry is a multi-billion dollar trade, with manufacturers offering consumers everything from flat-pack, budget products, to bespoke, handmade pieces. With many modern chain retailers producing low-quality, run-of-the-mill products, interior design enthusiasts often turn to auctions to find unique furniture at an affordable price. On the collectors' market, lovers of Scandinavian design are able to track down works from some of the most important 20th century furniture designers, such as Josef Frank, Arne Jacobsen and Finn Juhl; other sought-after furniture designers include Edward Wormley, Milo Baughman and Marcel Breuer. Alongside demand for particular designers, revival of certain interior design trends has created a market for vintage and retro furniture, from Louis XV chairs to art deco cabinets
