Stools

Although the exact origins of the stool are unknown, it is believed to be one of the earliest forms of furniture. Simply consisting of a single seat with three or four legs, the stool has been an integral part of the home for thousands of years, being used across the household in the kitchen, living room and even the bathroom. Despite serving the same purpose, the stool differs from the chair in its lack of a back, meaning that it can be easily slotted under surfaces like kitchen islands or bars. Traditionally, stools have been made from various types of wood; modern wooden stools are often given a rustic appearance to give the impression of originality and age. Today, stools are produced in a wide range of designs and styles to suit different interiors, from metal industrial to opulent fur-covered stools.
