Boundless: Dubai will take place at Sotheby's Dubai on 13th November and marks the first sale the auction house has held in Dubai. Sotheby's deputy director of contemporary and Modern Arab and Iranian art, Ashkan Baghestani said the inaugural sale will ''coincide with Abu Dhabi Art and the opening of the Louvre Abu Dhabi.''

Sheikha Manal will be patron of the auction which is compiled of 20th century and Contemporary Middle Eastern art, design, photography, prints, books & manuscripts, Arts of the Islamic World, Orientalist art and jewellery. An exhibition preview of the sale will be held at Sotheby's Dubai location from 6th to 12th November. Public tours and talks on pieces in the sale as well as the art market will be held by Sotheby's in the run up to the auction.

The inaugural auction comes as the next step in Sotheby's expansion into the Middle Eastern market. Sotheby's team of experts are also offering residents in the UAE complimentary valuations of gems and jewels on a weekly basis.

Edward Gibbs, Sotheby's Chairman for the Middle East, commented: ''Since opening our gallery and office in Dubai earlier this year it has been hugely rewarding to have strengthened bonds with our fast-growing community of clients in the region. Holding this exciting, cross-category sale here reflects the evolution of Sotheby's Dubai - both our commitment to our clients and our contribution to the market in the region and we are honoured to have Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum as our patron.''
