Commisioned by The Skateroom for their #100DaysofTrump project, the politically charged artworks by Ai Weiwei is inspired by a series of photographs shot by the artist from 1995 to 2003. Entitled Study of Perspective, the series documented the artist's travels to landmarks which mark the establishment, all of which he gave a certain hand gesture to.

TSR-OBEY-3-boards-01-Editing-1000x667 Shepard Fairey, No Future

Street artists Shepard Fairey's offering, entitled No Future, rebukes discrimination and hatefully-charged political movements. ''The Skateroom collaboration is an evolution of the DIY silk screened skateboard I began making in the 90's, as an art canvas that could go on four wheels or a wall. These new boards are more refined art pieces, but the spirit of skateboard culture is what drives this new collaboration. No Future is a response to the election of Trump.''

Ai Weiwei commented on his involvement: ''My favourite word is 'act.' I am partnering with The Skateroom for that very reason.''

Ai Weiwei's works are priced at $3 000 each and available in a limited edition run of 666, with the first 66 signed by the artist. Fairey has produced No Future in an edition of 450, each priced at $450. The works will be on sale at The Skateroom online and during Art Market San Francisco. The Skateroom projects commission artists to create limited editions of artworks the sale of which supports art institutions and non-profit projects.
