The first part of Interactions will focus on Thailand, a new and vibrant art scene that is flourishing.  ''One of the main goals of ART STAGE is to promote the Southeast Asian art world, and to matchmake and bring these national art scenes closer to each other as well as to the international world, explains Lorenzo Rudolf, President of ART STAGE. '''we have to pay tribute to this movement at the Fair by featuring many Thai galleries and artists, and planning spectacular museum-like projects with their leading local artists.''

Interactions  II:

ART STAGE Singapore 2018 will present the third edition of the Southeast Asia Forum. Forum is a thematic programme which includes an exhibition and a series of lectures that explore the global social, cultural, economic and political issues that have direct impact on Southeast Asia. This year's Southeast Asia Forum is titled ''Art Meets Design: Cultural Trend or Fashionable Lifestyle?''

The Forum's thematic exhibition explores how art and design inspire one another. Among the exhibition’s various platforms, one of the presentations will be a collaboration with The Artling which focuses on Singapore's first Asian-focused showcase on Collectible Designs, titled The Artling Collectible Design Showcase.
Offering an insight into Southeast Asia's diverse and exciting design scene, The Artling Collectible Design Showcase feature a line-up of the region's most interesting and emerging designers and studios who exemplify the changing dynamics between art and design in Southeast Asia. Presenting a curated selection of original and existing works ranging from furniture, lighting, textiles and design products, the showcase explores how functional design responds to the rapid socio-economic growth occurring throughout Southeast Asia,  as designers push the boundaries of the definition of 'design.' Participating designers and studios include: DAZINGFEELSGOOD (Singapore), Hans Tan (Singapore), Kevin  Chiam (Singapore),  Tiffany  Loy (Singapore),  Aor Sutthiprapha  (Thailand),  Apiwat  Chitapanya (Thailand),  Fabuless Studio (Thailand), PATAPiAN (Thailand) Gabby Lichauco (the Philippines), and Jinggoy Buensuceso (the Philippines).

''The Artling is thrilled to be part of this inaugural design showcase at ART STAGE Singapore 2018 and we are very much looking forward to sharing our selection of design items with fair-goers,'' comments Talenia Phua Gajardo, Founder of The Artling. ''Art and design have an intrinsically natural relationship and our mission is ultimately to highlight the talent in the region and bring design more to the forefront whilst encouraging more of a dialogue between the two practices. Through this exhibition, our goal is to create a space where art and collectible design come together, overlapping in their unique identities, tradition and culture. The creative potential in the region is huge and we must continue to look beyond the pre-conceived boundaries of these different industries as we pave the way for our artists and designers of the future.''

The third part of Interaction is the Signature Collectors' Visits. This section of the fair, which was inaugurated at ART STAGE Jakarta, showcases the collections of the host country's collectors in their private residences and highlights the importance of the role of the art collector in encouraging and developing a more robust local art scene.

ART STAGE Singapore will take place on 26th-28th January, 2018.
