The stranger-than-fiction tall tale was noted for its costume design, velour tuxes and split to the navel dresses were worn by the glamorous cast ensemble.

Coinciding with the American Hustle auction, costumes from the 2014 biographical film Foxcatcher will also be online at Prop Store. The film is based on the murder of David Schultz by John Du Pont, the millionaire who recruited two 1984 U.S. Olympic gold medalist wrestlers, Mark Schultz and his older brother David to train Olympic hopefuls in his private sports centre, Foxcatcher Farm, which he set up on his estate in Pennsylvania.

It is the tragic tale of the beta male, as younger brother Mark is a far more successful sportsman than his brother Dave. Although in the film Mark worships his older brother Dave, the two also resent one another. Du Pont at first acts as a father figure to the men, however, he later murders David by shooting him. He was convicted as guilty but mentally ill.
