Earlier this month, Barnebys' post on Liberty & Co featured the Cymric clock, read more here, a stunning example of Liberty & Co craftsmanship.

To add more to the tale, the silver clock was not highly valued by the vendor due to what they considered a tarnished appearance. The vendor agreed to the estimate of £800-1 200.

The piece is Hallmarked 'Liberty & Co Ltd, Birmingham 1902', the front of the piece is embossed with a foliate motif and coupled with stylised numerals on the clock face, it's appearance makes it an unmistakably fashionable 'Liberty' piece. The early 20th century clock was snapped up by a private collector.

The next auction of Silver & Plated Ware will take place at Fellows on the 14th December.
