Lars Bolander explains how his love of travelling the globe has influenced his design. "As a young boy growing up it was my background and culture that influenced me. Later in life it was all of the traveling I did, seeing the world."

Bolander marries together both dramatic designs, with a theatrical edge alongside his adoration for simplicity.

Bolander's collection features traditional Swedish lines including Gustavian chairs, a Gustavian settee and works by Swedish artist Dan Nygard. Bolander's travels are reflected in the use of European decorative arts, featured in the sale will be an eye-catching pair of terracotta busts of Moorish gentlemen and paintings by François Gall.

Also to be included is architectural trompe l'oeil furniture and silvered brass ram heads, the Bolander stamp which are used in the designer's personal logo.

For years Bolander has had beautiful showroom on West Palm Beach's ''Antique Row'' and now he is to sell his Bamboo Hill home, alongside its wonderful furnishings, to relocate.

"We have lived with these items and have certainly enjoyed them; now it is time to change," said Mr. Bolander.

Lars Bolander has penned two books; Lars Bolander. Interior Design and Inspiration and Lars Bolander's Scandinavian Design, in which he examines past and future design from Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland. Interior Design and Inspiration maps the global inspiration which has led to Bolander's signature stlyle.

Bolander is a much-loved designer who expertise have graced the pages of Architectural Digest, House Beautiful, Vogue, Elle Décor and the Wall Street Journal.
