Following the success of the first ever Ladies’ timepieces auction of last January, Artcurial’s July sale will feature the second edition of Le Temps est Féminin at the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo, the 18th July.

The great quality and the diversity of the selected pieces will undoubtedly enthral the ever-growing international crowds at our Monaco auctions’ François Tajan, Deputy Director at Artcurial SAM, says.

But as always in the auction world, time is ticking. Let’s get to the good stuff!

The thrilling Le Temps est Féminin sale has plenty of highlights. For example, it will feature numerous pieces from the Swiss watchmaker Piaget from the private collection of Gail and Robert Schwartz. The couple started collecting watches in the 1960’s, during their time selling the brand in South Africa.

Robert founded his business Schwartz Jewellers in Johannesburg in 1924. In the 1970’s, a very creative time for Swiss watchmaking, the couple befriended Yves Piaget himself witch lead them to meet prestigious clients like President Ford, Nelson Mandela, Andy Warhol, Elton John and Sammy Davis Junior.

Exciting highlights of the collection includes an 18k yellow gold manual winding bangle watch, with a coral dial and a yellow gold integrated bracelet. The cuff has an estimated value between 20-30 000 euros.

We cannot help but to fall in love with the Schwartz’s 18k yellow gold and turquoise set necklace with a pendant, lapis lazuli dial watch. The estimation lies between 30- 50 000 euros. These pieces are definitely fit for a queen.

Other iconic brands represented with an impressive collection in the July sale are Cartier, Jaeger Le Coultre, Chopard, Patek Philippe and Rolex.

One of the most noteworthy pieces of Artcurial’s collection is a very rare Serpenti Black Mamba cuff created at the end of the 1970s. The cuff is in the shape of a snake wrapped around the wrist with the watch in its mouth. It is a 18k yellow gold, enamel and diamond set manual winding wristwatch. The piece is signed Bulgari and Jaeger LeCoultre.

Despite having been made in a very limited edition, The Black Mamba cuffs have been wrapped around many renowned wrists. For example, Elizabeth Taylor, the most prominent ambassador of the House Bulgari, owned this watch, maybe making it the iconic piece it is today.

These luxurious timepieces aren’t the only creations up for auction at Artcurial in July. Le temps est Féminin will be accompanied by a highly anticipated Jewellery auction featuring treasures from all around the world.

One definite highlight is a Harry Winston emerald, diamond, platinum and 18k yellow gold necklace with the estimation 800 000-1 000 000 euros. Another is a Van Cleef & Arpels set of 18k yellow gold and platinum necklace and bracelet with spiral and knotted disks, set with brilliant cut diamonds surrounding a turquoise cabochon from the 1970s.

Not really your style? Don’t worry, Artcurial has lots of options from legendary houses like Cartier Boucheron, Van Cleef & Arpels, Boivin, Codognato and Hermès in many different styles and price ranges.
