There upcoming sale on Saturday 22nd November includes over 400 lots by acclaimed Designers including Karl Springer, Edward Wormley, T.H Robsjohn, Vladimir Kagan New to Design? Here's the lowdown on the Designers and Barnebys favourite lots from the sale.

Vladimir Kagan, born Germany, 1927 studied architecture at Columbia University following a move to the United States in 1938. On completing his studies at Columbia he worked in his father's wood shop and learnt to craft furniture. In the 194os he went on to open a shop in New York and his client list included Marilyn Monroe, Walt Disney, and Gary Cooper.

Karl Springer, also born in Germany, Springer emigrated to New York in the 1950s to work as a bookbinder, but found his strength in covering decorative objects in animal skins using the skills he learnt whilst working at Lord & Taylor.

Edward Wormley, began his career in Design by being employed at Marshall Field's design studio in Chicago. He then went on to work for Dunbar, who producedhand-made pieces during a time when production line manufacturing was increasing. In the forties he opened an office in New York, going on to produce the "Precedent" collection for the Drexel Furniture Company. His work was featured in Playboy in 1961.

T.H Robsjohn, London born Robsjohn studied architecture at London University and went on to work as an art director for a motion picture studio.

In the mid twenties he took a role as a salesman dealing Elizabethan and Jacobean furniture. His clients included Elizabeth Arden and Neiman Marcus. By the 1930s he opened a premise on Madison Avenue, New York with his Designs which juxtapose Grecian and Art Deco design.

He designed the homes of Alfred A. Knopf, Doris Duke, and Thelma Chrysler Foy.
