The Take A Seat: Three Hundred Years of Chair Design exhibition came to be inspired by the Decorative Antiques & Textile Fairs' most popular item: the humble chair.

The display will capture the evolution of chair styles from the 1700s and 1800s, Arts and Crafts, Modernist, Memphis Group and architect-designed pieces, with all objects for sale.

Check out country stick-back chairs from Wales, the West Country and Windsor; Georgian pieces by master cabinetmakers in Sheraton, Chippendale & Regency designs; Arts & Crafts aesthetic designs, pieces by designers and architects such as Bugatti and Perriand and finally, Post-modernist styles such as the back-on-trend 1980s Italian Memphis Group.

Shapero Rare Books, Bent Ply, Marcus Rex and Woodham-Smith Ltd are just a few of the names returning to the fair who will be joined by newcomers Maas Gallery, Alchemy Bruton, Nadine Kalachnikoff/Lars Bolander and The Modern Warehouse as well as a host of others.

2016 Decorative Antiques & Textile Fair will take place at Battersea Park on 19th-24th
January.
