The artist Lou Loeber Blaricum was a socialist who believed strongly that art should be accessible to everyone. In her highly simplified style she created 1920 geometric representations. She admired her contemporary the artist Bart van der Leck and the style of Piet Mondrian.

Andy Warhol Foundation / DaimlerChrysler AG. Daimle in 1986 commissioned Warhol to create a series of 80 models of Daimler. Warhol began to create the series which depicts the  Gottlieb Daimler for Mercedes 300 SL. Warhol was unable to complete the series due to his untimely death.

The dutch artist Willem Dooyewaard (1892-1980) is widely regarded for his charcoal drawings and pastels of the people of the Indonesian isles Sumatra, Java and Bali. Dooyewaard especially loved Bali. After his first visit in 1918 he decided to stay here for a few years. He was impressed by the exotic young women and the local people. He also was interested in the island's arts and crafts, especially the performance arts such as Legong dance and theatre. Zuydwal Veilingen will auction a collection of more than 20 of Dooyewaard's charcoal drawings, pastels and a painting.
