If Britain were to leave the EU, economists predict that the value of sterling would drop, meaning, perhaps, in the short term, buying art and antiques in the UK would be more attractive.

On the flip side, long term, experts argue the cost of leaving the EU would have an impact on public spending, with funding for the arts being hit hard.

There is also the issued raised of artist's resale rights, would these be affected if the UK were to leave? Opinion is split on this. And what about import tax and the UK's thriving art fairs?

Others argue that leaving the EU would see a revival in home-grown talent. On the other hand, leaving could have a disastrous effect on British artists living and working in Europe.
