The decade was given the fitting title of ''The Me Decade'' as jewellery became a statement in bright colours and daring shapes. Fellows' Antique & Modern sale this month is a retro delight with plenty of 70s chic pieces.

unnamed (3) Estimate £320-420

unnamed (10) Estimate: £500-700

Statement rings in the sale are chunky, such as these diamond dress rings. The structure and settings of the diamonds in both examples is wonderfully unconventional.

unnamed (5) Estimate: £1 800-2 500

A pair of ear clips by Amsterdam designer Archibald Dumbar as well as a panel bracelet and necklace convey the strong geometric shapes and angles that were popular in the decade.

The necklace features interchangeable lapis lazuli and textured gold panels, so that it can be worn with a splash of colour, or as a statement piece with a black or cream ensemble.

unnamed (6) Estimate: £700-900

This gorgeous retro ruby and gold set bracelet, dated as 1960s,  is more curved and a softer look than the angular suite above, yet still a 1970s statement piece.
