The video to her latest single ''This Is How We Do," is influenced by art, including that of Mondrian. The video opens with Perry in a framed piece on show in a gallery. Perry then wears a shiny two-piece take on Yves Saint Laurent's "Mondrian" day dress and dances in front of a blown up version of one of his color-blocked grid paintings.

Katy also receives a manicure whilst sat in an Arrested Development-style hand chair a concept supposedly invented by Mexican artist and designer Pedro Friedeberg.

Katy Perry is of course also the source of inspiration for artist Will Cotton, who has painted many portraits of Perry and was involved in the creation of her ''California Gurls'' video.
