Hollywood has taken on the topic of Nazi loot art once again as Johnny Depp takes on the role as art theft investigator Charles Mortdecai.

Depp plays the title character Mortdecai, an eccentric art dealer on the hunt for a stolen painting that as legend has it holds the key to unlocking a bank account full of Nazi gold.

The film, which is adapted from a series of 1970s pulp novels by Kyril Bonfiglioli,  will hit cinemas February 6th next year. Socialite Mortdecai is accompanied by his faithful manservant Jock Strapp. The all star cast will include Gwyneth Paltrow as Mortdecai's wife and Ewan McGregor as an MI5 agent as well as Jeff Goldblum, Aubrey Plaza, and Olivia Munn.
