Fellows, a specialist jewellery and watch auction house established in 1876, has just announced the introduction of Fellows Live. This new online bidding platform allows bidders the ability to bid for free: anyone use Fellows Live only has to pay Buyer’s Premium (plus VAT) on items purchased using this method.

Stephen Whittaker, the company’s Managing Director, says Our main aim is to make bidding at Fellows as easy and uncomplicated as possible”. He continues, “Our team has been working to create a user-friendly platform, without the additional surcharges levied by the leading auction aggregator sites. We have absorbed the costs associated with live and timed bidding for our customers because we believe it should all be part of the service. We are committed to offering value for money at Fellows.”

It should be noted, this new bidding platform comes at the same time as a complete overhaul of the user journey on Fellows’ website.

One new feature to the new bidding platform and website includes an accumulating bid basket, so that you can follow exactly what you’re spending as you bid live. Other features include lot alerts, where you’re informed as soon as an item you’re interested in appears in an online catalogue, and transparency on other bids: where other bids are coming from, where it be from another bidding platform, in the room, or on the phone.

Fellows was founded in Birmingham in 1876 and are a family-run firm of auctioneers and valuers. They hold more than 100 sales a year with specialist watch and jewellery auctions becoming increasingly popular.
