Ridley Scott's Alien film series, which began in 1979 with the first film entitled Alien shocked and fascinated audiences worldwide. Helmut Newton captured Sigourney Weaver in all her Sci-fi horror glory with his talented lens.

Modern Art

Several works by Ernst Ludwig Kirchner are set to feature. Included here are the two with the highest estimate. The girl in the south-west was painted by Kirchner during a stay on the Ostseeinsel Fehmarn in 1912. His model was the dancer Erna Schilling, whom he had met shortly before she sat for him. The two remained great friends until his death. Houses in the snow was one of the first Kirchner painted in his home town Frauenkirch, Switzerland, after WWI.

From the late 19th century, Max Liebermann began to devote himself to the bathers and riders who enjoyed the seaside resorts of the Dutch North Sea coast. The elegance of horse riders captivated him, which he has captured in this work featured in the auction.

Dadaist artist George Grosz adored capturing the Berlin society, which he did so with an element of humour.

Contemporary Art

Niño con un pájaro is an early work by Colombian artist Fernando Botero, who developed his over-proportioned figures in the 1950s.

This photorealist charcoal drawing by Robert Longo provokes true primal excitement (and fear!) in the viewer.
