As winter approaches and we are now fully in the grip of Jack Frost's fingers, there is always the McTear's Rare & Collectable Whisky Auction, on Wednesday 5th November, to warm the heart.

This month's auction not only has the more valuable bottles for collecting or potential quaffing, but also a plethora of drinking whisky lots both of the single malt variety and also of blended whisky from many different eras.

Barnebys top winter warmers are the Macallan 1979 Gran Reserva,  two 1962 distillations of the 25 year old Macallan's and a real Royal lot with the Prince William & Kate Midleton Marriage bottling and also the 1981 Prince Charles & Diana bottling.

Bottles from The Scotch Malt Whisky Society and The Speyside distillery of Balvenie including the Balvenie 1966 Vintage, a highly sought after bottle with the last bottle sold at McTear's for £1000.
