[U] Hong Kong:\n1880 (1st. March-Sept) 10c. on 16c. yellow, variety surcharge inverted, used with lightly struck B62 cancellation, a few clipped perfs. at base, very fresh appearance, probably the finest example in private hands. B.P.A. Certificate (2004). S.G. 26a, £75,000.\nOnly half a dozen examples of the 10c. on 16c. inverted are known, one is in the Royal Collection (with A1 cancel) and another in the Lagerlof Collection in the Swedish Postal Museum. This is one of the rarest stamps of Hong Kong. This recent discovery was found in an old untouched Lallier album consigned to us for auction.
