Note: Of the thick bar surcharge, six examples are recorded, positions 1 to 6, from the top row of the pane - the above example is position 5. All examples of the thick bar surcharge emanate from the cover mentioned in the footnote to lot 102. Nabarro noted that the thick bar surcharged stamps were line perforated whereas the thin bar surcharged stamps were comb perforated.
