QING DYNASTY, QIANLONG PERIOD, Of rectangular form, the front doors and panels decorated with medallions of leafy peonies, prunus, chrysanthemum and finger citrons meticulously carved in relief against a diaper ground framed by key-fret borders, the two front doors opening to reveal a partition of black lacquered shelves, the brass hinges and pulls incised with a floral motif against a finely granulated ground, the top brass handle set on four lobbed plaques decorated with lotus, the unlacquered back covered with a straw lattice panel, the flat base lacquered in black
