1662 Oak Tree Twopence. Noe-33, Salmon 1-B, W-240. Rarity-5. Large

Lovely Oak Tree Twopence Ex Richard Picker 1662 Oak Tree Twopence. Noe-33, Salmon 1-B, W-240. Rarity-5. Large 2. EF-40 (PCGS). 10.5 grains. Cataloged as Noe-34 in our (Stack's) October 1984 Picker Collection sale, although the reverse crack through the tops of the digits 166 in the date and to the left is not present, and your current cataloger (JLA) believes this is more accurately attributed as Noe-33. Perfectly struck and centered with all details on the planchet and boldly to sharply rendered. Some honest even wear, but no post-production blemishes of note. Richly toned and original with glints of antique gold and crimson-red to dominant steel gray. An impressive numismatic provenance further enhances the desirability of this choice Large 2 Oak Tree twopence. Provenance: From the Emerald Coast Collection. Earlier from our (Stack's) sale of Selections from the Richard Picker Collection of Colonial & Early American Coins, October 1984, lot 19. PCGS# 17. NGC ID: 2ARE.
