1722 Rosa Americana Twopence. Martin 4.4-C.1, W-1330. Rarity-4. No

1722 Rosa Americana Twopence. Martin 4.4-C.1, W-1330. Rarity-4. No Period After REX. AU-58 (PCGS). Reverse rotated a full 90 degrees clockwise from coin alignment. A boldly to sharply defined piece, well centered apart from the fact that the denticulation is beyond the planchet at lower left on both sides. Surfaces are microgranular, although not significantly so for the type, and reveal no post-production marks of note; flan trivially flawed at the 4 and 10 o'clock positions of the reverse border. Plenty of faded brassy-gold color mingles with handsome toning in slightly mottled steel-olive brown. Provenance: From the Emerald Coast Collection. PCGS# 116. NGC ID: 2ASY.
