1723 Rosa Americana Twopence. Martin 3.7-E.9, W-1334. Rarity-4. AU-55 (PCGS). CAC. Blended olive and chocolate-brown toning. Sharply struck nearly everywhere with most of the original luster surviving in the fields. The impressions of both dies show excellent centering. The border denticulation is complete on both sides, albeit somewhat faded between 2 and 4 o'clock on the reverse. A nice Rosa Americana twopence of the 1723-dated issue with a highly desirable numismatic provenance. Provenance: From the Emerald Coast Collection. Earlier ex Hollinbeck Stamp & Coin Company, 1956, to the following; our (Bowers and Merena's) sale of the Norweb Collection, Part II, March 1988, lot 2431; our Chicago ANA Auction of August 2011, lot 6022. PCGS# 128. NGC ID: 2ASZ. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
