"1779" (1845-1860) Captain John Paul Jones, Bonhomme Richard vs. Serapis Medal. Paris Mint Restrike from Original Dies. Betts-568. Copper, Bronzed. MS-65 BN (NGC). 56.9 mm. Edge marked (pointing hand) CUIVRE. Die rust identifies the original dies, rounded rims are wide with the reverse showing hand-trimmed wire edge at top. Deep reddish-mahogany patina.
