"1783" (ca. 1820) Washington Draped Bust Copper. Musante GW-108C

"1783" (ca. 1820) Washington Draped Bust Copper. Musante GW-108C, Vlack 22-R, Baker-5, W-10440. With Button. AU-50 (PCGS). Hard, frosty surfaces are toned in deep walnut brown with an intermingling of olive-copper at the peripheries. There are a couple of obverse digs at the letters ASH in WASHINGTON, but both sides are otherwise well composed for the assigned grade. Boldly defined, as well, and a nice AU example for both the type and Vlack number. Provenance: From the Emerald Coast Collection. Earlier from Heritage's sale of the Oak Collection of American Colonial Coinage, September 2005 Long Beach Signature Auction, lot 442. PCGS# 679. NGC ID: 2B6P.
