1786 New Jersey Copper. Maris 24-R, W-4975. Rarity-5. Curved Plow

1786 New Jersey Copper. Maris 24-R, W-4975. Rarity-5. Curved Plow Beam, Narrow Shield. VF Details--Environmental Damage (PCGS). Dark, granular and porous overall to explain the PCGS qualifier, although the generally charcoal-copper surfaces have no distracting marks apart from a light scuff within the shield on the reverse that blends fairly well into the overall fabric of the coin. Strike and detail are the strong suits for this coin, the former ideally centered, the latter overall bold for a moderately circulated example of this Maris number. PCGS# 767885. BASE PCGS# 45424. NGC ID: AUKK. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
