1787 Fugio Cent. Pointed Rays. Newman 13-X, W-6855. Rarity-1. STATES

1787 Fugio Cent. Pointed Rays. Newman 13-X, W-6855. Rarity-1. STATES UNITED, 4 Cinquefoils. EF-40 (PCGS). Newman Die State D/C. Solid collector quality for the type, and a grade seen less often for this Bank of New York Hoard variety that is frequently offered in Mint State. Handsome autumn-orange brown patina blankets both sides with some of the design elements showing olive-brown highlights, especially on the obverse. Good hard copper with no flan flaws, porosity, or even distracting marks to report. A few tiny, ancient carbon deposits are nestled around some of the design elements and border denticles, but these are mentioned solely for accuracy as they do not detract from either the quality or eye appeal. Well centered in strike with universally bold EF detail rounding out an impressive list of positives for this Newman 13-X Fugio. Provenance: From the Emerald Coast Collection. PCGS# 883. NGC ID: 2B8E. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
